Montreal, October 25, 2023 – It is with great pride and enthusiasm that BrainBox AI, a pioneer in autonomous artificial intelligence solutions for the built environment today announced that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has issued a patent, No. 11,796,205 for the company’s core AI-led HVAC system management solution. The company’s patent success marks a significant achievement by attaining dual patents in Canada and the United States within the same year. Moreover, the award of this patent stands as an homage to the innovative mind behind it, BrainBox AI’s Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer Jean-Simon Venne.
“From the very beginning, our technology served as a testament to our commitment to innovation, sustainability and environmental stewardship” declared Jean-Simon. “We are proud to see our solution ascend to this ranking as BrainBox AI stands at the forefront of this paradigm shift, contributing to the global fight against climate change by advancing the cause of decarbonization in the commercial building sector. This is a critical time, where every action counts and where harnessing the power of AI for the greater good of the built environment is no longer a choice; it can save the planet.”
The patent titled “Systems and methods of optimizing HVAC control in a building or network of buildings” further strengthens BrainBox AI’s intellectual property and position as a pioneer in the AI-HVAC space. With it joining the ranks alongside other renown patented technologies, it not only acknowledges but validates the innovation that drove its creation as both unique and valuable. Using deep learning, cloud-based computing, and its proprietary algorithms, BrainBox AI’s engine autonomously and granularly optimizes a building’s existing HVAC system. With this AI-driven technology, buildings can benefit from up to 40% reduction of carbon emissions as well as a reduction in HVAC related energy costs of up to 25%.
“The issuance of this patent reflects the relentless dedication and ingenuity of our team, of course with special congratulations to Jean-Simon” said Sam Ramadori, Chief Executive Officer. “Over time, it has been made abundantly clear that the inefficiencies caused by poorly maintained building management systems (BMS) have significant consequences. Our patented AI-technology paves the way forward for solutions that can provide the commercial real estate sector with a brighter and more sustainable future.”
