Context
After a successful four-store pilot showcasing the energy and carbon-saving potential of BrainBox AI, Sleep Country (Canada’s leading omnichannel mattress and bedding retailer) expanded the project to include 49 of its stores. This is the initial phase of a broader rollout across its 214-store portfolio. By deploying AI across 245,000 sq. ft. of their real estate, Sleep Country aims to reduce its energy costs and achieve its public commitment to net zero by 2040.

Process
Adapting to scale a nationwide portfolio
To deploy our technology across all 214 Sleep Country locations, we adopted a new connectivity method: cloud-connected, AI-enabled thermostats. This approach allowed us to expedite the mapping and scaling process throughout Sleep Country’s portfolio.
We also introduced our easy-to-navigate retail platform feature, enabling the company to monitor each of its store’s real-time emissions, energy performance, and more. Our platform has also allowed the company to pinpoint high-emission areas and instances of energy wastage, allowing them to rapidly address these issues and achieve even greater operational efficiency across their locations.
